Why trucks get it worse
Pickups and SUVs in East Texas tend to live outside: on job sites, in pastures, at the lake and in work lots. The lenses are tall and wide, so they catch more direct sun, and highway miles on I-20, US 69 and Loop 323 add road grit. That combination wears through the factory UV coating faster, which is why so many trucks around Tyler have chalky, amber-tinted headlights.
Bigger lenses, same careful process
A truck lens has more curves, edges and nearby trim, so we take extra care masking the grille, chrome and paint before we start. We wet-sand in stages to remove the oxidized layer evenly across the whole lens, polish it clear, and seal it with a ceramic UV coating. Most trucks and SUVs are still done in under 90 minutes.

Our restoration process
- Inspect and quote. We check each lens for cracks, chips and moisture inside. If something can't be fixed, we tell you before we start.
- Wash and mask. We clean the lens and tape off the paint and trim around it, so only the plastic lens gets worked on.
- Wet-sand in stages. We remove the failed factory coating and the yellow, oxidized layer, moving from coarse to very fine paper.
- Polish to clear. We machine-polish the lens until it's crystal clear again.
- Seal with ceramic. We wipe on a ceramic UV coating that protects the plastic from the sun so it stays clear.
- Photos and care tips. We text you before and after photos and explain the 24-hour cure.
